■ Named for the bar codes used to identify products for scanning in stores, バーコードヘア refers to hair when appearing in thin strips across the scalp. One style of bar code hair considered especially unfashionable by many younger people is where hair on the side of the head is grown long and then draped across the top of the head.
バーコードヘア, or more briefly バーコード, is often called a "combover" in English.
◇ Former Prime Minister Nakasone is commonly quoted as an example of someone with バーコードヘア. See a picture at nakasone.gif from http://www.weeklypost.com/010618/010618b.htm.

At Short Story, バーコードヘア is defined as being 60% bald.
At きすっぺの疑問, the author describes one person's バーコードヘア as being combed from the back of the head to the front, for which the author coins the term オールフロント (literally "all front") in contrast to the more usual オールバック (literally "all back," i.e., hair slicked straight back from the forehead).
